I know it's quite old, but the last month or so I've been watching the Sopranos on SKY Box sets. What a series that is, now on the fourth series. Brilliant!

Just finished Narcos season one, wow up there with the Wire , Breaking Bad, to think this happened, and was allowed to happen is bewildering . The characters as so well portrayed, you get to feel they are real at times, what an awful corrupt world the ordinary folk of Columbia had to endue, for the benefits of the corrupt, rich and end users . Those who stood strong and fought it, deserved high award and recognition .

The Bridge
The killing
Borgan
Salamander
Wallander ( not british one )
DAG
Occupied

avoid all America versions, however Kenneth Branagh Wallender is not bad, in fact its good .

There are two Swedish versions of Wallander - the TV series with Krister Henriksson in the title role, and the earlier TV film versions with Rolf Holger Lassgård (who played Ernst in DAG):

Both very good - but I prefer the Lassgård versions. Both are better than Brannagh.

I preferred Henriksson although both were excellent (I thought Brannagh was very good too). The last few episodes were heart-breaking.

The Night Shift (An Icelandic comedy a la Office. Based around three characters working the night shift in a petrol station)
Come As You Are (English language title. Original title: Hasta La Vista). A Flemish language film not unlike a lot of bitter-sweet comedies set in the north of England. A poignant film about three disable men looking to lose their virginity. It sounds exploitative but it really isn't).
The German Doctor (original title: Wakolda). An Argentinian film. language: Mostly Spanish but some German. A fictitious story about Dr Mengele when he was on the run in South America. Very thought-provoking. Shown on BBC4 recently.

A lot of classy stuff in there ,for me The Bridge stands out as the best followed by the Killing first series and then the political drama Borgen.

Watching the last two episodes of series one tonight. Then time to watch series two! It's cracking.

Loved Phoenix nights couldn't believe he only done 2 series before doing the max and Paddy spin off

Just finished the whole of Californication in about three weeks.

Really enjoyed it. Not the greatest thing I've ever watched but some real laugh out loud moments, great characters and sharp writing make it well worth a look.

Oh, and if you like fine looking young women with their titties on show then it's got that as well.
