Re: St. Fagans - a great day out

We are lucky with the amount of free stuff to do around cardiff. Unless you are one of those that has to spend money on bowling or cinema then there is bucketloads to do with the kids.

This blog has loads of information of things going on.

It's a case of à chacun son goût, as the French say.

In my humble experience one becomes more interested in history the older one gets. You are obviously still young and lovely.

Yes, spot on. Another popular French phrase is coup de grâce (final blow). So many mispronounce grâce by saying gra, grah, or grass. It's grahss.

Pity, it could be a money-spinner.
Vulcan is still getting built I think but not completed for a couple of years (maybe not until 2019 or I may be picking a year at random I'm not sure)

Will be great once it's done

I was there a fortnight ago and spoke to one of the wardens. The Vulcan will be built and ready to open at the end of 2017. It'll be a fully working pub based on the 1930's (not for the prices though I'd guess - a range of real ales will be available). The Workingmens Hall across from it will have a wedding ceremony licence and wedding guests can hire costumes from the 1930's and have their reception in the Vulcan.

    I agree, I am lovely,
as for history I really enjoy it especially the history of butetown, I've done a fair bit of research regarding the Bute family and the Stuart's etc. I have read on this thread where someone mentioned st fagans was better than Cardiff castle, which I have to disagree as the masterpieces that W.burges created at the castle are astonishing
