Thread: Adam Armstrong

    Adam Armstrong

Young Newcastle striker, apparently going to be available to loan. Was in league one team of the season, scoring 20 in 40 appearances, so it seems likely that they would want him to get championship experience next and at a club that isn't considered to be a rival.

Should we be making enquiries do you think?

Absolutely, would be my 1st choice, he's been in their match day squad in the early games.

I reckon this is just the kind of player we would want to be bringing in on loan. Young, hungry and eager to show he can step up to the mark at this level. Let's hope we are making enquiries.

Was he the one that scored bucketfuls for Coventry?

I think loan signings from Premier or top Championship clubs with too many players on their books are the best bet - not Lafferty. I wonder if - for example - Derby would let Nick Blackman out to 'a rival' now that they've signed 17 new strikers at £5m each?

Armstrong would be exactly what we need. But I imagine Newcastle would want a substantial loan fee which we are probably not in a position to pay.

& we all know about substantial loan fee's paid to Newcastle. Ameobi seems to have dropped out of the limelight.

Armstrong could play with his laces tied together (do they still have laces?) and be better than Ameobi.

This is exactly the sort of signing which I hoped we'd end up seeing because there is a chance, albeit a faint one I'd say, that someone like Armstrong might give us that twenty goal a season striker that everyone talks about - the service to him would also have to improve a lot on what we've seen so far mind.

Comes to something when Barnsley are taking players like Tom Bradshaw and Armstrong.

Never mind, Ameobi is still available.
