It seems to me its all panic buying with over inflated prices
Who was the last if any player who moved in the transfer dead line day (summer) that done anything for his new club ?

Forward thinking clubs sign their players way before dead line day ......
Deadline day deals should be for a second left back or a third striker or loans for players who aren't going to feature but won't budge (Manchester City have got rid of a lot of deadwood today). The worst ran clubs are the ones like Spurs and Everton who are trying to sign first team players.
You should have you first 11 done and dusted before the season starts. No way should clubs be signing first team players on deadline night, it's ludicrous.
Sissokos agent has stitched up Everton good and proper.
Doesn't always work like that. So many times a lot of deals are reliant on a first one going through and that provokes a domino effect. Also. although we are the definite experts in doing this, a club can have players they are looking to get rid of and it goes without saying that they will be more likely to accept a certain sized bid when there's no time for them to get anything else for them. With us, we pay such players so much that no one will take their wages on and the only ways we can get rid of them is by still contributing to their wages even though they are no longer with us (by it permanently or on loan) or by negotiating a contract cancellation which sees us paying out money which could have gone towards financing new signings. At better run clubs, such players are taken off the wage bill completely (and a transfer fee may be received) and this frees up funding which might enable them to sign a player they hadn't been able to afford before - what you say may have a little truth in it when applied to money no object Premier League, but those sort of rules do not apply for most teams.
The other good thing apart from Rickie Lambert coming here is the fact that City have got rid of the three massive burdens from our wage bill in Macheda,ALF and Fatso
