I agree entirely with you Pearcey. I have spent my whole adult life campaigning for labour and against the Tories yet we now have a government running roughshod over ordinary people, who judging by the polls, are loving it.Originally Posted by Pearcey3

It will take time mate. I suspect we are about to have a decade of Tory rule. By then Labour will have in place a leader capable of winning a General Election. It is astounding how shambolic this Tory administration has been. Lest we forget Cameron was the first Tory PM in 18 years. He lasted just over a year along with his fool of a Chancellor. Then we have last year's lamentable budget and a host of policy Uturns and a pitiful EU Referendum where Tories on both sides lied and lied again.
The Tories should be down and out and ready to be kicked out of office but they are heading for a landslide. Labour are a complete disgrace and are letting down millions of us that voted for them. It is much harder for Labour with such a hostile press. The real power in this country remains with the right wing press barons who feed off the narrow mindedness and bigotry entrenched throughout the UK. They use immigrants as scapegoats. They blame Brussels for the failure of our own Governments. In the meantime we become ever more entrenched in the Middle East failing to learn from history. Rags like The Sun play the nationalistic card as they did in 2003 over Iraq when they labelled Charles Kennedy a snake for not backing the Iraq War.
We have become a mean spirited country. Unwilling to take on a fraction of the immigrants that Lebanon have taken on. Lebanon is smaller than Yorkshire for Christsake.Our homeless numbers have tripled in the past six years. Our young doctors have had to take the last resort of going on strike. Meanwhile our economy remains weak. Yet the Tories are miles ahead in the polls.
What a complete mess.
