It seems the guys over in Brussels have a bit more of an appetite to take on the might of big business than their counterparts in Westminster.
Alongside the recent ruling on Apple, they have also a while ago ruled that MasterCard applied unfair transaction fees for a period of 16 years.
Sainsburys brought a court case recently to claim compensation for these illegal overcharges, and MasterCard s defence was that sainsburys weren't due any compensation, as the charges would just have been passed onto the customers.
Now a second case has been launched on behalf of the people, which, if successful would result in 14bn being handed out between everyone over the age of 24.
