I don't agree with that. With so many tactical innovations now I think youngsters need to have a degree of flexibility, I think the club would be failing youngsters if they could only play one position in one system.
Maybe Jamie Bird would have been a better example to use. I haven't seen much of him but surely it's better that he's comfortable fitting into a number of systems rather than having a specific role for him? Similarly, I'd like to think that Tutonda and other full backs here learn how to play in a back five as well as a back four. If and when these guys become ready for the first team, or go out on loan, they'll need to fit in to whatever system is being played. Being a one-trick pony, like Noone, limits the options of both player and club.
