    Danny Gabbidon

It's a shame Gabs has been ousted from the club. When I hear him on the radio he seems to talk a lot of sense. Our academy could do with someone like Gabs back here.

That's what most clubs do , I think one of our failures when we went up , was to not reach out to ex players /managers / welsh internationals to build a better background support structure behind the very naive Malky / Moody ,Tan structure .

Trollope had to go and Warnock can lift Cardiff spirits - Gabbidon

    http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/37556176

Danny Gabbidon believes his former boss Neil Warnock is the perfect man to lift Cardiff City.

The Bluebirds sacked Paul Trollope and 67-year old Warnock is the club's top target to replace him.

"Knowing Neil personally and working under him, I know what he is about. He could be a nice fit to come in and get the team up and running quickly," Gabbidon said.

"This Cardiff job is a difficult job, it's not suited to everyone."

"You have to have the right personality and the right credentials."

Gabbidon, who was signed by Warnock in June 2011, feels his experience would make him a good fit at a good time for the Championship strugglers, who have won just twice in 11 games.

"You need a manager who can go in there and get that team performing and he could be someone who could do that," he told BBC Wales Sport.

"He's a very good man-manager, he's good at working on a tight budget and getting the right players in.

"Working under him at QPR, I know the kind of person Neil is, the kind of manager he is.

"He's also proven in that division to get the best out of teams and get them out of that division.

"It's not just about bringing in a coach who will be good on the training ground, it's about bringing in a personality who can lift the players and lift the spirits of the players."

The former Cardiff and West Ham defender felt the club had to act to remove Trollope.

"I don't think anyone can argue with the decision to sack Paul," he said.

"Results have not been good and performances have not been good either.

"I am hardly surprised by the decision. He has tried to put his stamp on things and it has not worked.

"He's not been getting enough out of the players. With the squad they've got there they should not be sitting towards the bottom of the league."

Under Trollope Cardiff won just two games all season and are just one place off the bottom of the Championship.

Cardiff see their next Championship action on 14 October when Bristol City travel to the Welsh capital.

"If Neil Warnock came in he would relish the Bristol City game and it could be a catalyst for the season," Gabbidon said.

Appears Danny putting himself in the frame as assistant? ?

Totally agree on this. Players like Gabbs, Hudson and McNaughton are the types you want sticking around in some capacity. I want Gabbidon back. We need experienced smart heads who care about Cardiff at the club. Too much apathy kicking around at the moment.

If Warnock is to be the new man, it might be an idea to have his successor as number 2. Didn't Warnock say this was to be his last season?

Perhaps Bothroyd's tweet yesterday was no coincidence. Trying to put a mate in the frame?

    Re: Danny Gabbidon

An even better fit in the backroom staff would be Kavs......he's mooted recently that he would love to be back here and frankly it's quite possible that he would be a great CROWD catalyst to get the stadium rocking again and give that crowd boost to the players!!Let's be fair the atmosphere in the CCS has been shite for some time now AND despite what the likes of Vince et al will tell you, it's been 95% down to the shite we've had to watch on the pitch!! Yes we can get behind the players one & all BUT when they don't have a clear clue as to how to play each and every game, why should we get worked up?

Scott Young is at the Club. And that hasn't worked out well.

It'll work out better for him if he leaves and simply speaks to the media.

When Gabbs was here with Young, it was constant abuse, not good enough, terrible coach, cannot speak passionately, then there were the threads gloating that he had been pushed aside to do corporate speaking during games, and then even more celebrations when he was shown the door.

Now its a shame we didnt keep him on, its better to be an ex player on the outside looking in, than to be actually working at the club.
