Does anyone have experience of a Nest thermostat?

As the question asks, any experience?
I currently have a programmer for the hot water and a separate stat for the heating (via the programmer), can I replace both with a Nest and control both hot water and heating from one device?

yes,

they are very clever, you can even have it set to turn the heating on when you are within a certain distance away from home ( say 5 miles )

the guy who tried to sell it to me said he turns the heating off when his children are at home in bed and he is in work, he seemed to think that was a major selling point

Yes. But only the third gen one does the water so make sure you get that one. We had one installed on April. Good stuff
