From the Independent just three days ago:
"A number of commentators claimed the deaths were a result of a rebel-led attack, although those claims could not be verified.
It came after medical charity Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) said there had been a “bloodbath” in Aleppo amid a sustained assault on the city by pro-Assad forces backed by Russian warplane"
Look at the impression that the article tried to create conflating an attack which killed a young Syrian swimming champion with a "sustained assault by pro-Assad forces."
What it does not make clear is that the girl was killed by rebel forces, as she lived in West Aleppo which is completely controlled by the Syrian government forces. The Independent have already been taken to task on Twitter with one person after another piling in asking, what do they think they are playing at? This is one of the ways that msm distorts and twists narratives to fit in with what the government wants the newspaper's readers to see and know about.
