Thread: Hoilett signed?

    Hoilett signed?

Cardiff City have reportedly signed Junior Hoilett on a free transfer.

New manager Neil Warnock today revealed he was targeting one or two signings right now, and winger Hoilett fits the bill perfectly.

Hoilett played under Warnock at QPR and the Sun report the deal is done.

More on this as we get it.

Hoilett looks set to join Warnock at Cardiff

Junior Hoilett looks set to join Neil Warnock at Cardiff City.

Former QPR boss Warnock took over as Cardiff manager this week and is keen to add Hoilett to his squad.

Hoilett, 26, is a free agent, having been without a club since deciding to leave QPR when his contract expired.

He made it clear after the final match of last season that he did not want to stay at Loftus Road and was not interested in signing a new deal.

Manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was keen to keep him and, with Hoilett having not secured the Premier League move he expected to, Rangers still held out some hope that he would return.

But the Canadian, who spent four years in west London, appears to be close to agreeing a move to Cardiff.

He played under Warnock at QPR during the Yorkshireman’s spell as interim boss prior to Hasselbaink’s appointment last season.

He was on 45k apparently and the contract his was offered was under 1/5 of that at QPR, so I'd imagine we'd be paying him 10k a week etc.

I would imagine perhaps more. But perhaps his demands would've dropped since he went ages without a club.

I was under the impression his contract ended, QPR wanted to keep him but he was after premiership football, rather than he was not good enough for QPR.

    I might be wrong though.

Finally a Canadian at Cardiff (Martin John didn't count)

He played in Canadas World Cup Qualifiers and to be honest didnt look the fittest and wasnt very sharp which is understandable as he had no club football. Would imagine it will take him a bit of time to get up to speed.

Also, I believe he is playing in a few hours for Canada against Mauritania in a friendly unless he left the squad to get the deal done.

He's got talent and one if playing well, can change a game , not many of them about at the moment in our squad , is Warnock already the greatest city manager of the last four years.
