Without dragging the post off topic, I don't understand how two teams from the same city could be so polar opposite. I've always found Wednesday fans great and the United fans littered with odious cretins.

No, they packed up about 7.30. Sounded like someone forgot to flick the switch to turn off the Muzak below the ninian but tbh while you could hear it in the background it didn't really spoil the silence, amongst the fans, you could've heard a pin drop.

I think you are right, it was barely audible from where I was stood and didn't take anything away from what was an impeccably observed minute's silence which was a credit to both sets of supporters.

I think they started to clap without realising that a minutes silence was to be held. As already mentioned, they soon stopped and fell silent. Very respectful of them.
