Disgraceful. I'm appalled.
It should be 'could have nicked a goal' not "could of".
it wasn't just that open goal he should have also squared it to Whitts for a tap in before that chance but choose to blaze over from a difficult angle.
That's not the worse , he's been reported to Trollope for crossing the halfway line, and showing effort inside the opponents half.
At least we had a front man in a position to fire some shots at goal and we could not say that for a while .Pilks will score like he did last season he is a real trier.
I haven't seen the incident but the much more interesting thing to me is that Whitts was far enough forward to have been in a position for the tap in.
He's the most natural goalscorer we currently possess and if he's now getting into goal scoring positions then I'm delighted that Neil has recognised that's where he should be.
Wigan won't be a gimme, but I'm really looking forward to seeing whether the increasing confidence starts to get transmitted to the attacking side of our play on Saturday
