For the next few weeks i'm working around the country in some pretty remote places i'm hoping to use the laptop as much as i can so wondering if a Dongle or whatever they are called would do the job?
I'm pretty clueless regarding this so would be grateful for any help
You could surely buy more data as an add-on to that?
If it were me, I would first check the coverage map of your current mobile provider in the areas you expect to visit. If good - go with the tethering option as per suggestion.
If not great, - check the 3G/4G coverage maps of the other main providers, and if one is clearly better maybe buy a dongle or or a 'portable mobile data wifi' from them, and a data plan . Most do a PAYG option.
Maybe a bit too obvious, but you won't be anywhere near free wifi will you? Most hotels and lots of pubs and restaurants provide this now.
^^ Good point!
And if you have BT broadband at home you can usually find BT WiFi hotspots almost everywhere and just use your 'My BT' login to access.
