Thread: 29% possession???

  1. #1

    29% possession???

At home really??? What's wrong with our midfield, can they not hold the ball or is this just the way we play now as I haven't been for a while.....

    Re: 29% possession???

Just played another wannabe Barcelona who when in the two minutes of injury time and losing 3-1 barely crossed the halfway line.

We just stood their and watched them.

    Re: 29% possession???

I find it weird that possession is calculated by number of passes and not time on the ball

Is that right. If so I agree with you. It seems nonsense

If so then surely only passes in the opponents half would be far more meaningful.

    They were a good team.
Under Slade or Trollope we would've been battered.

It definitely is, time on the ball doesnt count, running past players doesn't count only pass, pass, pass.

Really weird, it isn't possession at all just number of passes.

    Correct

So at the best they should call it the completed passes stat.
I think COMPLETED passes in the opponents half would indicate a domination statistic which is what is implied by the word possession.

No wonder the jacks used to have such high possession stats passing it 10 yards at a one around the back 4

Not now though, they're shit now

That's twice under Colin we have achieved that unremarkable statistic of 29% possession. We have yet to get over 40% possession under Colin. The other worrying thing is that we have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of his games in charge.

    We lost to Newcastle.

If Slade had played against Newcastle he would have pulled down his pants on the halfway line and offered his arsehole to Alan Shearer, Peter Beardsley, Jackie Milburn, Mirandinha, Phillipe Albert and Freddie Sheppard and allowed himself to be violated live on sky the cock sucking fat bellend

Thanks for that, I assumed they were still based on the amount of time a team was in possession - seems to me that those stats become less relevant using the method you describe.
