According to my Google-fu, dislocation of the peroneal tendons can (after surgery) take up to 20 weeks before a person is back to normal.

Don't know how this changes for top-level sportsmen though.

I live here in Spain, all of the Spanish websites, including Marca which is generally considered very much pro Madrid, are saying 3 months minimum if he needs surgery. Bad news for me personally is that we are travelling to Madrid for a home game on December 11th, this will now be the second time we have had RM tickets and Bale has missed them both!

I'm beginning to think this is sort of your fault.

Does he get "sick pay", how on Earth is he going to manage to pay the bills.

The Ireland game is four months away. Plenty of time for him to return to full fitness.

3 month injury, bit of recovery time and should be fresh for the game.

Possibly, but not sure about "plenty".
Lets hope injury is over stated and he's recovered sooner.

They were talking about similar on 5live following the Uber court decision. One of the experts remarked that while footballers are also employees and can therefore claim at an employment tribunal the award they are likely to receive is minuscule compared to weekly wages at another club.

This really is worrying news for our qualification hopes but also for seeing him play a large role in taking Real Madrid to Cardiff for the Champions league final and/or winning his first La Liga. Really gutting news.

Surgey he will be fine. At the moment Madrid are saying he will be out for three weeks but it will be longer if he has to have minor surgery.

    Re: Gareth Bale injury

Sky Sports are saying he will be out for between two or three months. He will be desperate to played against Ireland and still reckon he will be fit
