......but it's only the 1st and today I've had to endure that f*cking Shakin Stevens song three f*cking times, once on the radio and twice in the shop. Along with Slade, Wizard, The Pogues etc I'll probably hear it dozens of times in the next 24 days, and then next year it'll happen all over again. All I can do is take comfort in the fact I don't work in retail and have to listen to the stuff dozens of times every bastard day for two months, I think I'd end up doing myself in, or going soft in the loaf.

Not impressed with an enforcement notice that comes into effect on 31 December - just at the time the hotel owner would have been 'painting out' his Christmas bow. I (and all my cultural Marxist mates) would give him to Sunday and if he hasn't got the paint pot out by then start the fines rolling. Bah humbug!
