    Birmingham sack manager...

A bit of a weird one from the outside.

Birmingham announce they have parted company with manager Gary Rowett and his backroom staff. The Blues moved to seventh in the Championship with a 2-1 victory over Ipswich last night.

New owners have shit on him. Seems they don't think he's going to take them where they want to go.

I hope it all goes to shit for them. He won last night, one place outside playoffs and has improved them year on year

    Crazy

Yep, but Russ is a free agent again. They are probably thinking they need Russ for that last wee push for premier league.

However, new owners Trillion Trophy Asia Limited (TTAL) remains determined to lead the Club to a bright and exciting future.
There's the rub. Only the Man City latest 'new' owners seemed to want to build something, admittedly it was a preoccupation with wanting to attract Pep to their club, and it seems that only Man City will be able to have a smooth'ish route to sustainable success. Other new owners seemed determined to grab glory by having the new manager/player their money brought in lead to success and will piss on anything that has come before as it didn't start and end with them.

Sadly, many fans will go along with it as long as there is short term success and then blame players/manager when things go wrong and demand further investment.

Not so sure Zola will bring guaranteed success.?
Great player but has a poor managerial record so far.

He nearly took West Ham down (finished 17th), took Watford from a playoff team to 13th, failed in Cagliari and has been in Qatar for the last year, and got sacked there too. His managerial record is appalling.

    Exactly.

He's got the job because the Asian bloke in charge thinks having a star name ex player will attract star players.

It worked out pretty well for us so why not?

Swapping Rowett for Zola appears to be a massive gamble & could well blow up in their faces. Rowett appears to have done a great job on a limited budget & it will be interesting to see how Zola performs assuming that he will work under similar constraints
