It won't be long before it will be compulsory to have one, as insurance companies will insist on it (or charge a hefty premium if you don't). We are already becoming a litigious society so this will be a natural development. It is of course a two-edged sword - your own driving will have to be faultless!

What's needed is a camera that records everyone else's shite driving and not your own. We all make mistakes on the road now and again, and occasionally even the most placid of us has the tendency to drive like an arsehole. A little more live and let live would go a long way.
How about the opposite of penalty points? If you are spotted driving tidy eg letting people in, merging in turn, not racing other cars to get to your destination 5 seconds quicker, not tailgating etc etc, then you get credits on your license that can be spent on intoxicating liquor in participating establishments.

LMAO I am sure you are right Rhiw, thats the story of my life. I expect there will a new model every 6 weeks now they are popular. This one seems to do all I require though. I had it hard wired in about 20 minutes if that s any help to anyone. Not a wire in site. I'm impressed.
