Judging him purely on musical ability, he was top drawer. Great voice, great songwriter, and great stage presence.
Ironically enough though, my favourite tune of his was his cover version of Terence Trent Darby "Let her down easy".

RIP George, a very talented singer, songwriter and performer.
5 days left of 2016. Princess Leia & HM The Queen must be shitting themselves.
I'm wondering why people are eulogising George Michael. Okay, many are thoughtlessly following the lead of a sympathetic corporate media 'cos he could sing a bit. He was a convicted druggy, convicted road menace and convicted pervert. If those who died prior to 1950s were to be transported to the present day they would likely be amazed at a society so morally corrupted it idolises a narcissistic low-life.

He wasn't all bad.
I'm struggling with some calling him a musical legend mind.
He was certainly guilty of some pretty crude behaviour. Then again nobody is suggesting he was a saint. He also did a lot of good raising money for the NHS and children's charities. Its a shame you can only focus on the worst elements of his life and ignoring all the good stuff.
It even knocked the monumentous news that the queen's cold prevented her from attending Christmas Day mass off the breaking news banner.
This is interesting;

I see people comparing Michael unfavourably with Prince and Bowie, saying he's not at their level. Interestingly Michael had more US Number 1s than both Bowie and Prince combined and also had more numbers 1s than them in the UK also. I think people forget how big George Michael was in the 80s and what a great album Faith is. One of my favourite 80s songs is 'One more try'. A great song, with great vocals. I personally am gutted all three are no longer with us. RIP to all three legends.
agree mario pointless comparing artists who leave us . all 3 were great in there own right leave it at that
What do Ayton Senna and George Micheals deaths have in common?
They both died with skid marks on their helmets.
Wham!
