Surely the majority of our bank holidays and annual celebrations are built on falsness? If anything, the end of a calendar year seems more genuine than most.
It's the falseness of people ,not tge occasikn , one minute it's Merry Xmas or arm in arm swaying to Auld Lang Syne ,then they ignoring you or delivering some road rage expletive.
