I think "well taken" is pushing it. He tried something and it came off. Good luck to him, but I doubt if he'd be able to do again given the opportunity.

As Carragher said afterwards in the studio (right for once imo) , you could say the same about any of the great goals.

The fact of the matter is Giroud executed what he tried. The keeper had no chance, the bar being involved and the pass prior are irrelevant.

He probably couldn't do it again if he tried 100 times I agree, which is what makes it a spectacular well taken goal
