The guy played great tennis . We were waiting for him to capitulate but he held his nerve .

Typical. gets a knighthood and he thinks he's made it! Seriously, I think all of the big four who have dominated the men's game for so long are finding it harder to get motivated for the same thing they've been doing all of their adult life - if there are other things which they are beginning to think take a higher priority than tennis as they move into their autumn of their careers (or beyond that in some cases) then I think that's perfectly understandable.

Can't buy into that one Bob where Murray is concerned. The other 3 of the big 4 have won all 4 of the grand slam titles on at least one occasion. Where as Murray has only won 2 of them. Surely that's motivation in it's self for him?
