Thread: Rosneft

    Rosneft

Rosneft is a Russian state oil company who were recently mentioned in that dodgy dossier on trump that included the bizarre golden shower stuff.

In that dossier it stated that trump was promised 19% of Rosneft in return for dropping the sanctions on Russia, which works out at about $11bn.

Well quite possibly a coincidence, but...The other day 19.5 % of Rosneft was sold in a very convoluted deal involving a multitude of shell companies and ultimately ending up in a Cayman islands account.
    19.5% looks a lot like 19% plus a commission.

Of course that doesn't mean anything necessarily, especially as the sanctions are still to be dropped. But....

Not relevant but I wondered the other day, with all this fear about Russia spreading its poison throughout the west, anti virus.

Kaspersky is one of the most popular western anti virus programs, with access to all aspects of a computer.

The Moscow-based company ranks sixth in revenue among security-software makers, taking in $667 million in 2013

High-level managers have left or been fired, their jobs often filled by people with closer ties to Russia’s military or intelligence services. Some of these people actively aid criminal investigations by the FSB, the KGB’s successor, using data from some of the 400 million customers who rely on Kaspersky Lab’s software, say six current and former employees who declined to discuss the matter publicly because they feared reprisals.

As I type I am on a works computer using kaspersky.

Coincidence! - unless more comes to light.... ;)
Also, the person or company that currently owns that stake may or may not be the final recipient.

It's highly unlikely that a Quatar/Glencore deal would lead back to Trump.

A quick websearch should answer your question.

If we are getting 11bn out of it then maybe we could just about make a late run for the playoffs

It was my statement, and it was meant as a statement, in the way that 'wouldn't it' when used without an upward inflection and without a question mark is generally taken as a statement.
