Was at the other end of the ground from me, but it looked pretty clear that the defender was grabbing at him and gave him a shove. Went down a bit easy, but definitely contact, and not much complaint from Preston

Hardly any of their players complained, which is the clearest indication it was a pen. Grayson said it was a pen too.

I've seen worse fouls not given.
Not every bit of contact should constitute a freekick/penalty.

Unfortunately that's the mentality of the modern day fan/pundit.

Obviously a most insightful original post that the refs have read, discussed and agreed a compensatory program going forward.

How else do you explain that the number of fouls committed by City in home games have suddenly dropped from 18 to 9 - a decrease of almost 75%. I'm not often wrong about this sort of in-depth analysis.
