I quite like the idea of an instant penalty in the game being played to reduce gamesmanship and choosing at the ref etc.

Might put more pressure on refs and influence decision-making though and what happens with goalies?

Wow, finally! This has been one of my "beefs" for many years. Hopefully will bring to an end the era of "taking one for the team" i.e. cynical tackles outside the penalty area bringing a promising attacking move to a standstill, and giving the defenders time to get back before the free kick is taken.
