All my neighbours wanted Falcons to win; New England aren't liked outside of NE although there's a grudging acceptance that Brady is special. They've all just left feeling gutted at what's just happened. Falcons played really well for the first three quarters and leading 21-3 at HT and by 25 at 28-3 in the third. They got to Brady frequently and he got sacked and hit more times than in the rest of the season. Then for some reason in the final quarter it all turned around. Patriots scored at will whilst Falcons froze. Brady could do no wrong; Patriots scored unanswered 3 touchdowns and collected 2 x 2 point conversions to draw level 28-28 in the final seconds to send the game into overtime. Tonight was the first Superbowl ever to go to extra time in which it's sudden death in which a touchdown wins the title whilst in the case of a 3-point kick, the opposing team gets one play in which to draw level.

They toss a coin for control of the ball in overtime (which is crucial) and, of course, luck was with the Patriots. They collected Falcons kick off on their 20 yard line and inevitably, it seemed, marched up the field for a winning touchdown from just a couple of yards out.
Hell of a game, everyone gutted for Falcons who seemingly had the game won in great style at the three quarter mark. After that Matt Ryan, their excellent quarter back, got on the field just once for a play that got nowhere.

Pussied out of a New England win at half time when the odds were 11/2. Didn't believe in them at all, they looked dire. And then, in true NE fashion, they claw it at the death. Absolute bar stools.
Tried watching it to see what the fuss was about. Have to say American Football is a shit game.
