Woodruff did yes. As far as I am aware Foggon didn't for either Newcastle or Middlesbrough. I though Ian Gibson too, or Alan Warboys but don't think either of those did either. Reece didn't either.

Have to say I can't find any record of a Foggon hat-trick either. United signed him from Middlesbrough in 1976. The only two league games played against each other during Foggon's time at 'Boro were in 75/76 but Foggon didn't play in either match. He was however part of a Newcastle team that beat United 5-1 in 1969 when 'Pop' Robson scored a hat-trick. Maybe another case of a journalist's dodgy memory !
