Why not, there has to be room for a few tournaments in the golfing year for something a little bit different. A shorter format people can see a result in one day. Something that may capture the imagination of the younger generation and it maybe something that they want to take up in the future.

The same is said about T20 cricket, but it does draw more families and children into the game, and the longer form of the game is still there if that is what you want.
