This feels like a crude misrepresentation of how PIP is assessed and a misunderstanding how mental illness is best treated. If it is just a cost cutting exercise then please be honest enough to say that and that you've chosen people (yet again) with disabilities to bear the brunt of that rather than making light about the benefit process.
Perhaps, if you were seeking to save money, then you could seek to improve the assessments and mandatory reconsideration process so that fewer cases end up in court? That way it may only be the borderline cases which go the distance and you could argue that the tribunals are making "bizarre" decisions.The Liberal Democrats said the government was using court losses "as an excuse to severely restrict disability benefits".
