Colin Powell endorsed Democratic former US vice-president Joe Biden on Sunday, becoming the first major Republican to publicly back Donald Trump’s rival ahead of November’s election.

Powell, who led the US military during the 1991 Gulf War in Iraq under Republican former President George HW Bush and later led the Department of State under President George W Bush, said Trump has “drifted away” from the US Constitution and posed a danger to the country and its democracy.

It appears he has not been won over by Trump in the past 4 years. Not such a surprise with Powell (he didn't back Trump in 2016 either) but as the season of endorsements is now opening up there could be (I expect there will be) more of a Republicans Against Trump movement than 4 years ago. Watch this space, eh Gluey?
