I heard the reason they wanted your passport number on your application is so that they will print your photo on the ticket, to stop people applying multiple times

The chances of anyone getting tickets via the public ballot now is very remote as UEFA publicise the ballot widely, which did not used to be the case.

It the past you really had to be on your toes to be aware of the ballot window and as a result I suspect that significantly fewer people applied.

That probably explains why I have been to 5 finals but not since 2011-12.
