    Train seat reservation question

It's a long shot, but here goes. Someone might have the answer.

Is there a way of reserving seats on a train if you haven't booked a ticket specifically for that journey, but have a season ticket/rail rover etc?

    Thanks

Yeah - call the Customer Service department of whichever Train Company you're intending to travel with. They'll reserve and give you seat numbers over the phone.

I travel a few times on the paddington service with gwr. I think it depends on the time you travel.
I always buy the open super duper ticket or whatever it is , the cheapest possible ticket that covers you for travel between 10am - 3pm.
Then I sit next to the buffet car.
I notice you can book tickets only on a certain time that you want to travel, such as the 8.25 to London.
