Interesting that the government investment in Cardiff is costing about £44k per job created, while the Swansea city region is about 7k per job.

If that is true then it's lower paid jobs that are being created, or the Govt is getting someone else to cover some of the costs. The Digital park project (or whatever its called this week) was getting funding from a lot of private sector companies - the govt I think were providing cheap land / rents and the alleged 'super fast' fibre link across the Atlantic was coming into Swansea Bay

Not necessarily, there could just be lower hanging fruit to be got in the Swansea area.
There is a significant amount of private investment in both plans,, but i just took the government investment and divided that by the number of jobs created.
