    FT: ROI 0 - 0 Wales.

I'm excited, but I'm going for a 1-1 damp squid

    This.

Though I wouldn't mind seeing us dish out a beating in champagne style - if it so happened.

    Comfortable 1 - 3 win.

This is a must-win game and I will admit I have a bad feeling about it.

The ROI are the luckiest team ever to play international football and apart from Henry's hand ball I cannot remember them having any contentious decision going against them either. We will be up against it, we should win but knowing them they might pull off a lucky win

    Re: ROI v Wales predictions

Ireland will start strong and be 1-0 up at half time, but we'll re-group and go on to win 3-1.
My two £5 bets tonight are Wales to win 3-1, and Ireland HT Wales FT.
    You can thank me later.

    1-0 home win

Don't think this will be at all easy on the eye!

This is not going to be easy, the Irish have an excellent record against Wales , they have passion in thier team fired up by their management and fans , it needs Bale and Ramsey on top form to get any result.

Did anyone else just see Coleman describe this game as a British derby?

I heard that and was surprised. Especially as Coleman's old man was a Dubliner. I suppose the majority of the players play and have played most of their careers in the British game. But Coleman should know better. And the Irish reporters should have called him out on it.

In football terms, it was a British derby - glad to see no one seems to be trying to make a political point out of what Coleman said other than on here.

In qualification terms a draw away in Ireland is not a disaster especially when considering the sending off.
However, what it does mean is that for Wales ,away to Serbia becomes a must win match. Lose there and the gap becomes almost insurmountable with the games left and with Ireland and Austria also so closely matched even a runners up spot starts to look tricky. Looking in from the outside it becomes a hugely interesting group, with this 4 way battle for qualification, but I appreciate that is probably not what most on here want.

Let's pretend he meant the British Isles derby.
