I think you are right (Ninianclark) about it being strange as some playing for contracts although, as was seen today at Chelsea, if you don't take all parts of the game seriously you get punished. That is not just the players' attitude but the manager's team, his tactical changes, subs on the bench etc plus the general atmosphere within the club. It all has an affect.

I'm not saying that NW was wrong to put Manga straight in, for instance, but would he have played if we were still battling relegation or even fighting for the play offs?
    I doubt it.

Wolves on the other hand needed the win and the result it is not at all surprising.
We have been mediocre at best since our big wins at Leeds and Derby which effectively put us "safe".

Gutted for the travelling fans though!

Confirmation that Ken Zohore was starting today's game came a welcome boost before kick off and the Dane obliged with his 9th goal in 9 games but it was a mere consolation as City conceded three at the other end.

The City defence failed to deal with a ball into the box and after some head tennis Danny Batth nodded Wolves in front.

Zohore's back header (pictured) after Gunnarsson's long throw levelled a few minutes later but after allowing the early Batth goal Cardiff were washed up again just before half time. City struggled in the air agan to give Batth time to head his second goal.

Craig Noone hit the post as City tried to compete but the game was settled when Helda Costa put the result beyond doubt in the last ten minutes.

City find themselves relatively comfortable in mid table. 11 points above the relegation places (Rotherham were relegated today), and 13 points away from the play offs.

    Starting line up:

Cardiff: McGregor, Richards, Bennett, Manga, Bamba, Morrison, Ralls, Gunnarsson, Hoilett, K Harris, Zohore.

Subs: Murphy, John, Connolly, Halford, Whittingham, Noone and Pilkington.

1395 City fans were at Molineux.
