Thread: Tommy Robinson

    Tommy Robinson

Just found this speech he did at Oxford Union, ill hold my hands up and say I was wrong about him. Good on Oxford Union for allowing him to speak, alot of university's would not have afforded him the same right.

How many people at Oxford do you think agree with EDL politics? A chance for different views to be heard and assessed, developed or scrapped is usually a good thing.

Out of curiosity did you watch his speech? Or just coming out with boring platitudes to feel better about yourself?

Fair play you're a decent joker.

    I do "know the score."

Both clubs of the Old Firm got their fair share of dribbling plums who decide to sing about events that got nothing to do with football.

    No surrender.

I assume they are also referencing the "Red hand of Ulster" whilst partaking in Nazi salutes?

it is our culture and you are not allowed to stop us selebrating it because we have people who will see to it. it is not hatred just culture.

I'm glad they enjoy 'selebrating' their culture with Nazi salutes or should I say calutes.

But I agree kingbillyboy.. Tommy Robinson is poison, and allowing him to speak is not free speech.

"Celebrating culture" is a strange defence for Nazi salutes

It may look like a nazi salute to the untrained eye. I can assure you it is not a nazi salute.

    No surrender...... lol.

I f I am being honest I didnt find him particularly articulate . Bit of an urchin really with "friends" and "family members" I didn't really warm to, although they did seem a very unlucky lot in general.

His history is rather chequered if Wikipedia is to be believed. Football violence, BNP membership, Mortgage Fraud, entering the States using someone else's passport and a lot more. There is a lot more to him than what he revealed in that talk - and the Q and A session went very easy on him.

Spot on TBG. His previous suggests he is a nasty piece of work.

I don't think kingbillyboy was complaining about him not being articulate though was he?

I'm not saying he has not been a complete bell end in the past nor do I condone it, I just wondered what he said in the vid that is offensive that's all.

    Re: Tommy Robinson

In fairness he talks a fair bit about his 'chequered' past in the video, admitting where he was wrong and giving the background to occasions where he felt he was not in the wrong. If you agree with him or not, he represents a large demographic of working class people across the country and I felt it was good for a young university audience to hear what he had to say, the impressive like/dislike ratio in his favour speaks volumes giving the audience that tends to subscribed to the Oxford Union channel.
