Oh Sergio. He should have nailed it.

That 15th hole was amazing from Sergio. Hitting the pin, and then the putt just dropping in. I hope he wins the playoff.

Absolutely. Its a great hole anyway and Garcia played it with sublime golf..
He does remind me of Seve with his cavalier golf.

Ill admit I'm too young for seve, and fairly late getting into golf; but what have I been missing??!!!!!!

Amazing climax..made up for Sergio. Rose contributed to a fantastic dual.

Seve was wonderful to watch. You never quite knew what he was going to do. So charismatic.
Rose is a top player but tonight it was do or die for Sergio. He deserved this. Richly.

How he embraced Sergio seconds after losing was admirable. Like you say, gentleman.

I can remember watching this eighteen years ago

    http://www.pga.com/pgachampionship/m...-champ-medinah

and hearing "don't feel too sorry for Sergio, there'll be plenty of majors for him in the next few years", but I gave up on him ever winning one when his putting started to go wrong about a decade or so ago.

So, so pleased that Sergio has now joined the hundreds of major winners who had a fraction of his natural ability at this pretty late stage in his career (it's easy to forget that someone is still only thirty seven when they have been around a sport for more than twenty years) - I think it helped him to be up against a friend in Justin Rose in the Play Off, but the important thing is that, for the rest of his life and beyond, the words "major winner" can be added to his name.

Maybe there's hope for Lee Westwood (another good bloke who must feel he is destined never to win a major) yet?
