Today's football - Plenty could be sorted

Already York City and Braintree relegated from the National League. They go down with North Ferriby and Southport.

In League 2 Hartlepool could go down if they don't win and Newport lose. At the moment Newport are winning and Hartlepool are losing. Jeff Stelling not quite so enthusiastic presenting his show today.

Crazy play off race in League 2 as well. As it stands 5 clubs outside the play off places could all still get in.

No League 1 today. The final games for that league are tomorrow. Still a relegation place to sort and a promotion place still open, Sheff Utd are up but they could be joined by Bolton or Fleetwood.

In the Championship Wigan will go down if they don't win, and might go down even if they do win. At the moment they are 1 - 0 down at Reading.

Blackburn could go down if they lose, Birmingham win and Forest draw. All those teams are level at the moment.

But Birmingham, who could drop into the bottom three have already missed a penalty and are down to 10 men.

At the top, as it stands Leeds have missed out on the play offs, they are six adrift of Sheff Weds and Fulham.
Leeds are losing, Wednesday are drawing and Fulham (the form team) are winning.

In the Premier League Sunderland will go down if Hull better their result. Swansea, in the bottom three are away at Man Utd tomorrow, the six teams above them are all playing today and could extend the gap leaving Swansea in deeper trouble. They could end the day five points adrift.

Just as Leeds might see some hope with Fulham conceding v Brentford (1-1) they have gone 0-2 against Norwich.

Stelling very "professional" today. Doubt we'll see any histrionics after his embarrassing tirade last week.

    Fulham just been pegged back

Your last point, wouldn't that be nice to see.

I agree with you about Jeff Stelling - I'm a big fan of his, but that was poor last week.

Not good news for him so far this week either - County a goal up at Carlisle and it's 1-0 to Cheltenham against Hartlepool, Newport are safe if results stay the same.

    Leeds 1-3 Norwich

Stelling and his cronies are so far up their backsides it's surprising you can still see them. Bunch of childish histrionics from them every week.

Birmingham, with 10 men, are now beating Huddersfield. With Forest drawing at the moment Blackburn are only one goal away (if Villa scored) from going down with Wigan today.

If it stays as it is Blackburn would be three points from safety with one game to play (and they have a worse goal difference)

They said on Sky Sports, that Huddersfield made 10 changes, this makes it a mockery !!!!

Hasn't Wagner heard about 'the integrity of the league'?

He should look at a few threads from here on the subject - as his education and penance!

    Leeds 1 - 3 Norwich

If they lose Leeds only hope is that Fulham lose but they have more than +10 goals on them.

Fulham 1 - 1 Brentford at the moment with Fulham just missing a penalty that would have given them the lead back

Re: Today's football - Plenty could be sorted

    Leeds fighting back 2 - 3 now v Norwich

    QPR 1 - 0 Forest.

That reprieves Blackburn and leaves Forest looking worringly over their shoulder.

Re: Today's football - Plenty could be sorted

Now Burton have equalised they move into a safe position.

If Birmingham were to draw today (they currently 1 - 0 up) then Blackburn, Forest and Birmingham would all be on 48 points with one game to play.

    Games currently

    Blackburn 1-0 Villa
    QPR 2-0 Forest
    Birmingham 1-0 Huddersfield.

Re: Today's football - Plenty could be sorted

    Blackburn 1 - 0 Villa

That puts them level with Forest and means that Birmingham, Burton and Bristol City are still not mathematically safe

Great drama as this swings all over the place.

Re: Today's football - Plenty could be sorted

    Leeds 3-3 Norwich
    Birmingham 2 - 0 Huddersfield

Leeds mathmatically in play off contention but a dozen or so goals short. They need to win and Fulham not win.

Birmingham still not safe with a win. But are two points ahead of Blackburn and Forest

Southampton just missed a 90th min penalty. FT 0-0. So Hull have gained a point on Swansea, as will West Ham.

    Sunderland 0-1 FT. Mackems relegated.

Re: Today's football - Plenty could be sorted

Cheltenham boss Gary Johnson is in hospital with a set back after heart surgery.

So they have a cardboard cut out of him on the sidelines to shake hands with the Hartlepool management.

Re: Today's football - Plenty could be sorted

    FT Leeds 3-3 Norwich.

Leeds are three points behind Fulham but are 13 goals worse off. See ya next season Leeds.

Burton have survived and stay up.

Re: Today's football - Plenty could be sorted

    Rotherham and Wigan relegated.

Bristol City 51pts GD -6 (need 1 point to stay up - but have superior GD unless they get two decent beatings)
    Birmingham 50 pts GD -20
    Forest 48 pts GD -13
    Blackburn 48 pts GD -14

    To play

    Today Brighton v Bristol City

    Next week:
    Bristol City v Birmingham
    Forest v Ipswich
    Brentford v Blackburn

    FT Blackburn 1-0 Villa

That means Blackburn fight on to the final day and Wigan are relegated.

Sounds like a thriller at Elland Road 3-3 in front of 85,000 fans.

    Stelling not 'appy Hartlepool lost
