    Tax advice - Landlord

does anyone know anywhere where you can get free tax advice? I'm a landlord who makes a small profit on a rental property, currently paying tax based on what my yearly profit is. However the tax laws are changing from this year on , and the amount you can claim as relief is changing. Any help much appreciated.

    Hi mate

I'm always cautious of free advice, including that of internet strangers, but I've always found MoneySavingExpert to be a reasonable shout. Try having a look here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...splay.php?f=16

    Cheers

If you are a basic rate taxpayer the changes have no real effect. If you pay tax at 40% you have a problem and need to have a chat with someone.

Dont rely on the advice of anyone other than the people who administer the legislation.

    Search on .gov. uk

I'm in exactly the same situation with one rental property supplementing my income from work. I don't have specific info to hand without logging on to HMRC but I've always found there's enough advice contained in the online tax return to help me fill it in correctly. No doubt that will be updated when the rules change.

Money advice service website (https://www.moneyadviceservice.org.uk/en) may have something.
