    Voting

Never voted before, so thought I'd give it a go this time. June 8th is it? Anyway, I don't know anything about politics. Only a bit about left wing right wing. So could anyone tell me which is the most right wing party? I'm looking for neo Nazi signs, white hoods, burning crosses, that kind of thing. Thanks in advance

Left wing = looking after the least well off.
Right wing = looking after the most well off.

    Hope that helps.

That's how Tories/Labour was explained to me by my parents when I was kid.

I've since learned that there's more grey area than that but essentially it's still a good guide.

I said this to my niece about Con and Lab and added that the Lib Dems look after the wishy washies.

It got a bit fudged over the Blair/Cameron years, but it's very much this now.

Explain how right wing policies have helped the worst affected in society then.

They don't help the worse affected, please don't think I'm saying that because I'm not, between the two of them they take everything, I can't be doing with any of them.

You can see it, I can see it, and yet the majority continue to believe there's real and fundamental differences between the major parties as they dutifully toddle off to polling stations to validate the process blissfully unaware (or willfully ignorant) of the evidence that they are voting for slightly different shades of the same thing.

Indeed, that's why I find it so tragic watching nice people arguing over this crap.

Don't worry, I'm sure the nice people find it tragic watching you nice people espousing your theories

It is pathetically desperate, the attempts to claim the Tories are racist party all of a sudden.

I've seen Labour voters with placards saying they must fight the tory racists.

    Bore off.

Really? There's been a racist element in the Tory party for as long as I've been allowed to vote. It's nothing new.

I think yourself and Mr Morgan might have had a point during the Blairite days but the two main parties are further apart in terms of policy now than they've been for donkeys' years. As are brexiters and remainers.

Talking about limiting migration does not equal racism.

Look into how people like david ward in bradford become empowered. It is pretty obvious why he was allowed to fester and win a seat in that area.

Racism is not a one way street.

Bad eggs is a cross party problem.

I would bring up the unnecessary use of the term racist, but what is the point. It is part and parcel of modern day outrage.

I am happy to be proven wrong mind and I am not a Tory.

This is what you need ,good luck

National Socialism , more commonly known as Nazism is the ... In 1933, with the support of traditional conservative nationalists, Hitler was appointed Chancellor of Germany and ... fringe racist groups, usually referred to as neo-Nazis, still describe themselves as following National Socialism.

Which socialist values would you say that Hitler's Nazi party displayed?

    No got a clue that was his party name and the poster asked ;;;;

""" I'm looking for neo Nazi signs, white hoods, burning crosses, that kind of thing""

Just being historically helpful, as the poster has sought to joke about appalling historical events ,I should imagine a lot of people still have nightmares about men wearing white hoods and holding burning crosses ,and any attempt to associate those tragic events too the Tories is not funny ,dare I say the viewpoint is not one of social caring ? .

business friendly = growth = jobs: jobs with lower taxes, you keep more of what you earn, living standards improve

the IFS reported on wage growth (on BBCs R4) just recently. In this report, they said that existing jobs had seen very real wage growth, whereas it was new jobs that were pulling the average down. So if you had a job, your living standards have improved, but if you have only recently entered the workplace, then you are worse off compared to your predecessors.

Your politics will determine how you wish to interpret that fact.

Why is it that certain people from some political backgrounds can never accept that people can vote for who they want ?

Why is it that if you vote for someone else other than Labour people here deem it fit to call you a xxxx ?

Why is that people people from certain political backgrounds believe their way is the only way ?

Everyone thinks 'their' politics is the 'right' politics - I understand that - but please bear in mind - others can and often do disagree with your politics - that needs to embraced not shouted down just because you happen to disagree.

Whoever wins the election - accept it - move on. Dont fall out with people over it. And if you really really dis like the political direction that much - either stand for election yourself at the next available opportunity or move to a country that fits your political / life style aspirations.

Has being business friendly worked though? Is our growth based on investment or private debt?

17 of the 25 points in the nazi party program can be considered socialist in nature

I'm pretty sure that UK growth is fuelled by consumerism rather than investment, hence why we need to keep making the UK as business friendly as possible (so that private investment continues)

Eric - well it may do to you - that is your opinion - you are entitled to it. I accept whatever the result of the vote is - whether or not I voted for it. Some it seems cant handle that scenario.
