    RIP the Ely way...

You'd have to wonder why armed police attended the scene...

It doesn't mention it there, BUT the first reports of this, stated knives were being used, hence the armed plod.

In light of recent events does it really matter that armed police were on the scene?

What would have happened if this funeral had taken place in leafy Wiltshire?

Then why would it take place in Wiltshire? Long way to go for a funeral for someone from Ely.

It's only about an hour and a half dive.

It was a gypsy funeral they were travelling/gypsy boys fighting. Was quite violent by all accounts.

Didn't think gypsies used blades, being all bare knuckle and that??? Surprising....sign of the times I just thought it was Ely and fairwater renewing their love as they frequently have in the past.....

Got an old schoolmate from Calne, Wiltshire. A softly spoken lad who'd happily sit quietly in a corner of a pub to have a pint.

I saw him fight once. I say 'fight' I mean 'deal with the situation swiftly'. I thought he and most probably we, were due a tuning. I was just glad he was on our side.

All that cow tipping makes a man strong.
