Thread: May fluffing her lines

    May fluffing her lines

No wonder they stopped her from speaking more than three words at a time.

    ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

I nodded off just before she started speaking. I thought I'd switched over to the Walking Dead when she started talking.

Hopefully she will do the right thing, and take her silly shoes with her.

The front pages are out. Mail and the Sun the first to kick her when she's down.

First she backed remain. Then she called an election she couldn't lose.

Hard to think of a worse 12 month period for anyone in politics for a very long time.

Stilted, unconvincing and cliche ridden to the bitter end - normally I tend to feel sorry for someone under circumstances like hers, but you need to see the human being beneath it all to do that and she's never shown that side of herself.

I don't feel sorry for her at all, she was looking for a mandate to do some pretty nasty stuff, including going to war in Syria and Iraq.

I remember when John Major lost to Tony Blair a lot of labour supporters wher I worked felt sympathy for him.

He would have walked that election from the postion Theresa May started from

I'm struggling to think of a Prime Minister before her during my lifetime who wouldn't have done so.

She spoke in public three times yesterday and all of those appearances were typical May. The one after seeing the Queen was okay I suppose because she said what she had to and was allowed to leave it at that. However, the one after that (following criticism within her party about her lack of contrition and sympathy for Tory MPs who had lost their seats apparently) was appalling as she answered every question by just saying the same things over and over again - even if she wants to change the way she is perceived, it's hard to see how she can do, because she just seems incapable of saying anything that comes close to empathising with the voters.

I found the speach she gave outside Downing Street quite disturbing, as she is going to coninue with her previous plans regarding human rights, freedom of speach, and taking military action in Syria and Iraq.

Wasn't really thinking in terms of what she said, more the way she said it - she managed to stay "on message".

I agree with you about what she said.

She has no empathy. She even used the London attacks as a political platform.

And to announce that she will be taking military action in Syria and Iraq.

PS no empathy is a top trait of psychopaths/sociopaths.

In the porn industry a " fluffer " is a woman employed to keep the male star erect between scenes
    in the movie.
I don't think May would be very good at this job.

I read Major's autobiography a couple of years ago and he was very human for a Conservative. He was also very candid about his flaws and mistakes - although he seemed to gloss over the Edwina Curry affair if I'm not mistaken.
