City "closer to landing new striker".

I've been assuming all along that it was Danny Ward, but maybe it's not.

Here's the line from the linked article: 'But a transfer fee will be paid for the player.'

Further on Chief Executive Ken Choo revealed the dramatic change in the club's finances. "Colin (Neil Warnock) happened to be in my office complaining about being limited to Bosman freebies and a Jock with a gammy leg, and how on earth was he going to achieve his 28th promotion when a call came through from Malaysia. It was Vincent, but I could hardly understand a word he was saying such was his excitement. All I could make out were the words "at fecking last" which he kept repeating. It turned out he always buys a scratchcard when collecting his state pension first thing every Monday. The club's now fecking minted, butt."

Though i haven't seen a great deal of him I'd love us to get the lad Gallagher as he does look a real prospect who will be hungry to get on.

I'd love us to look at someone like Phil Foden from Citeh or Mount or Ugbo from Chelsea on loan.

Much more of a traditional target man than Zohore (or indeed Cornelius). Holds the ball up and brings players into the game, as well as obviously being a real threat in the air as he's a giant.

I don't really think we will sign him, but he's starting to get noticed and I'm sure someone will take a punt on him soon.
Maybe even us as we seem to have first dibs on any tall strikers from Denmark these days.

    Done deal according to Sky

£1.6m plus add ons to be confirmed in the morning.

Would have preferred Gallagher personally but a cheaper option although Ward was still more than I expected him to cost

I wouldn't rule out Gallagher, NW said he wants a PL player on loan...
