I've never watched love island so can't comment, but I suspect you are spot on.

I did however watch an episode of mrs browns boys once to see what all the fuss was about. Absolute, utter, utter, shite.

Mrs. Brown's boys: watched part of one episode, then never again. Absolute rubbish.

Never even heard of Love Island, so can't comment.

A while ago, I realised that, after slagging off Mrs Brown's Boys for years, I'd not actually ever watched a single episode of it and so I decided I should at least do that - I did, I was right, it's garbage.

Sister's boyfriend was at our house the other day. He claimed Mrs Brown was much funnier than things like Monty Python or Blackadder. He was not on the wind up.

He asked me to recommend him a movie a while back. I recommended Taxi Driver (he hadn't seen it). His verdict - a load of shite. He prefers Adam Sandler movies.

Are these legitimate grounds for me to try to find my sister a more suitable partner?

I think you have to let her make her own choices, you can help her with that though, give her a taste of what kind of life she's going to have with this guy, make her watch a box set on repeat, I'm sure she will come to her senses.

Only one thing worse than Mrs Brown's boys and that's the hour long chat show with Mrs Brown they tried a few weeks back.

The wife wanted to try it out so I said ok. Cringworthy from start to finish and it lasted an hour.

    I've seen 3 episodes.

Essentially, it is "successful" because it uses an old trick of "contagious laughter". The git - Brendan O'Carroll - will often "Adlib" and start laughing, causing his family to laugh, causing the audience to laugh.

Audience leaves happy, they laughed at something, but rarely can they explain what they laughed at.

Also, the use of "feck" - pointless when you also say the real f word.

God, I despise that show - absolute dross from start to finish.
