Whichever way you look at it midfield is weak.

If Warnock plays with 3 at the back in Morrison, Manga and Bamba he has to have wing backs, which would probably be Richards and Bennett which is fine. But if you have wing backs then there's no room for Harris, Hoilett or Ward to play out wide. But it does mean you can have 3 centre midfielders in Gunnarsson , Ralls + 1 other, probably Halford! that allows us to play two up front , Zohore and Ward.No point giving Peltier anew contract if he's going to play wing backs.
This is how we started last season and it didn't work.

I think Warnock is more likely to stick with 4-5-1 or 4-4-2.

Etheridge: Peltier, Morrison, Manga, Bennett: Harris, Gunnarsson, Ralls, Hoilett: Zohore, Ward. Subs: Camp, Richards, Bamba, Halford, + any 3 who are left here or new signings. No place for Noone, John or Pilkington because hopefully they'll leave.

Bamba only on the bench !!. After being one of the players of the season - doesn't make sense. Its no contest for me - Bamba ahead of Manga or Morrison every time. He can actually tackle and mark players out of the game, unlike the other two who are both prone to errors and lapses of concentration.

    Towelled up throw ins....
Warnock's teams are known for it and looking at that side it will be physical, route one, hoofball with about 30% possession.

Pretty much exactly the opposite of how we finished last season.

Looks good. But I would swap mendez-Laing for harris, or even Noone or Pilks (if still here) instead of Harris. Harris better coming on from the bench.

Agreed. Bamba first choice every time.

In 17th, despite having spent at least £10m (that £10m isn't including undisclosed fees)

I'd rather have Manga over Bamba. Bamba is nearly 33 and Manga 28. All 3 are prone to the odd error but Manga can play football. Agreed Bamba made an impact last season but this could be his last year with us. maybe we'll sell Morrison for £3m+ and play Manga and Bamba with Connolly as back up?

I'd imagine any bids of £5m+ for Morrison and he'll be gone

Selling Morrison for £5m+ and playing a centre back partnership of Manga-Bamba seems the ideal situation

Was this whilst you were boycotting your team because they were useless?

    Morrison
    Manga
    Bamba

    Bennett
Richards ( Patterson maybe when fit)

    Ralls
    Gunnar
    Hoillett

    Ward
    Zohore

I guess we need another CM in there instead of Hoillet , but not many options at the moment. Hopefully something which will be dealt with.
Maybe Pilkington would be a better option?

    Or 4-3-3

    Camp
    2 of Morrison, Bamba, Manga

    Richards, Bennett

    Pilkington Ralls Gunnar

    Hoillet Ken Ward

Some pretty decent cover with the likes of Peltier, Connolly, Harris, Patterson, Saadi, and Mendez-Laing not in here. That would make a decent bench, with hopefully 2-3 more to add.

Still have to move a couple out, all gone a bit quiet on No one and Lambert looks like he will cost us, although if he stays and is fit I'd still have him in the bench as he's better cover than Fred as target man cover for Zohore
    Camp

    Morrison
    Manga
    Bamba

    Bennett
    Richards ( Patterson when fit)

    Ralls
    Gunnar

    Harris
    Ward

    Subs
    Ethrington
    Connolly
    Peltier
    Harris
    Halford
    Mendez
    Saadi

Hopefully Lambert, Noone, Pilkington, Fred and John gone

Still need 3-4 more players in when you look at it
