Thread: Barrie McKay of Rangers.

    Barrie McKay of Rangers.

Wouldn't be surprised if there's some truth in this one, but Forest would have to be favourites.

Good player. Would do a job at championship level.

On twitter at about 8pm someone said he was in Glasgow airport going somewhere. A flight arrived in Cardiff from Glasgow at 10:30pm. Hmmmm

This looks like developing into a Lex Immers type of thread

Good enough for a Premier League club, in my opinion.

Doesn't seem to have produced as much as the other scotch we were after, but then he's only 22 as opposed to almost 30.
Remains to be seen whether he can make the step up to championship level though.

Good interview with Pat Nevin here which relates to the situation McKay finds himself in. Interestingly, Nevin thinks that most wingers are frustrated number tens and, if that's true, that may work in our favour because Warnock was, apparently, prepared to use Jonny Hayes in that position and, presumably, he'd want to do the same with McKay - always assuming that we are interested in him of course.

McKay has often struck me as Rangers' stand out player whenever I've seen them on the telly in the past two seasons.

Yeah I think he's got a degree of vision with his passing through the middle that suggests he could do well as a 10

Having a medical at Forest apparently

Rangers rejected a bid of £6m for him from Leipzig in January, he's off to Forest for £475,000

Warburton at forest would surely make them favorite to sign him. Seeing fees of anywhere between 450k and 750k.

I can't imagine they wouldn't have sold if there was a genuine offer of £6million in January

Is that right?I thought Rangers valuation was upwards of 750k.Same senario as Hays me thinks insomuch as he has a year left on his contract.

Forest still looking more likely. Odds now down to 1/4 on him going there.

He's probably been told the old tale that there's 4 women to every man in Nottingham.
Wait till he finds out it's the same 4 Women!!

He always seems to draw two opposition players towards him which is a good sign.

He can dribble, hit a killer pass and strike the ball with very little backlift.

Matt Kennedy has started following him on his twitter account.

Watching the clips of him, I think this is the exact type of number 10 Warnock wants. Wouldn't surprise me at all if we signed him.

Interesting. I didn't read the whole thread, but got through a lot of it and it seems Barrie McKay is a talented lightweight, lacks effort and desire ('hearing he failed medical as they couldn't find his heart'), had a very poor season last time out ('he's been awful for us about 90% of the time'), and the Rangers fans would like Warburton to pay well over the odds for him as payback for walking out on their team ('£2m is the amount I'd be demanding from that prick Warburton').

He's got much more time on his side than Johnny Hayes, but otherwise looks an even less attractive option. He doesn't seem to have the type of personality that Warnock wants in his team.

Of course that could all just be bitter fans wishing a ship-jumper 'a shit journey home' and will turn out to be the next Arjan Robben.
