    Learner drivers

    Where can you take them off the roads for practice?

    any industrial site

    I learnt to drive over that estate at the bendricks, the estate that HMS cambria was on

    not sure if it still exists now, i guess it would be prime land for housing

    it worked well, as you have all the road layouts and markings

    also used to go down Llandow trading estate

    In and around Llandaff North when I'm in a rush to be somewhere, seems to be the 'in' thing.

    The industrial estate behind the tax office in Llanishen seems a decent run out, enough road for some decent driving, plenty of corners for reversing, quiet for emergency stops and they have a greggs.

    I went for a bit of practice over the Barry Island car park (the one under the bridge) a few years ago. Not sure if it's still 'open' without barriers or anything.

    You'd have to go really early morning...and perhaps on a shite day, weather-wise.
