Sacked by Arsenal for throwing his shirt in Don Howes face conveniently ignored but i assume Your point being he scored some goals in the championship but was a journeyman player who achieved nothing in the game for any club he played for refused to sign a new contract with us and eventually dissappeared from the game.

Some goals,i rest my case. Some of his best displays was under a manager who can change players attitude.

    Could be a great partnership.

    Re: Tomlin has signed!

I've read all the 83 replies to this thread and I can only find 3 posters who seem to think LT is a good signing.
Come on boys let's get behind NW.

Harris was one of the best centre backs I've seen play for City even though he was past his best. Never saw him play in midfield.

I've seen him play twice, both in 2011/12. He was a part of the Peterborough side that beat City 4-3 in an extraordinary midweek match at London Road and was a substitute in the Posh team that were beaten 3-1 in the return game.

Of the club's seven summer signings, I think I'm right in saying that Tomlin is the one who was playing for the team that finished highest in the Football League pyramid last season:

Tomlin - Bristol City - 17th in the Championship
Camp - Rotherham United - 24th in the Championship
Ward - Rotherham United - 24th in the Championship
    Mendez-Laing - Rochdale - 9th in League One
Etheridge - Walsall - 14th in League One
Paterson - Hearts - 5th in the Scottish Premiership
    Damour - Bourg-Peronnas - 15th in the French Ligue 2

I think he's a good signing and so does everyone I've spoken to about it.

Gives us something different to what we've got.

I think, for the money we have available to spend, that he's an excellent signing and fills an important hole we had.

I'm looking forward to seeing what NW is able to get out of him and I'm struggling to think of a better player for that position that we might have been able to get here...

Bothroyd was the best striker I've seen in a City shirt and that includes Morris Scott and Cameron Toshack!

Due to playing in the second half as sub after 9 strikers pulling out of a friendly... never to appear in England squad afterwards...

Think you've got it spot on.
This is an important one for us.

Centre halfs get injured and suspended a lot and we need 3 or maybe even 4 quality ones.

Warnock is playing this right. If he won't extend then get what we can, but he'll need replacing.

I agree he's a good signing and a real talent who I've admired over the years, we've paid top dollar though for what is effectively a roll of the dice on an unpredictable character

CM - Gunnarson, Ralls, Damour, Halford,

AM / Wingers - Tomlin, Hoilett, K. Harris, Mendez Laing, Pilkington, M.Harris.

Forwards - Big Ken, Ward, Saadi, Healey,

Several players in all areas of the field can cover a number of positions.

Ive left out John, O Keefe, Noone, Kennedy and Fred as clearly they are not part of Warnocks plans. Obviousl if Pilkington and Saadi are moved on I think we would need to bring replacements in or those positions as they are a little threadbare.

Being picky id like someonelse in CM who can pass the ball but its quite a competetive squad.
    How about a friendly of

    Camp

    Patterson Morrison Bamba Bennett

    Gunnarsson ralls

    Harris Tomlin Hoilett

    Zohore

    Vs

    Saadi Ward

    Pilkington Damour Halford Mendez-Laing

    Richards manga Connelly peltier

    Etheridge.

    I would watch that friendly

Need to move a few out

He's filled a very large gap we had in our squad and is a very good player at this level
