Never really seen the point of it in a small country like Britain. America, Australia, Canada, ect, I'd love to give it a go in countries of that size......lots of danger mixed in with long journeys, would be a great adventure

Hitched loads from when I was about 18 to about 25 or so - all over the UK, and on one memorable trip all the way to Istanbul. Had a few scary experiences (predatory homosexual men, drunken idiots) but the vast majority of people I met were decent, and I learned a lot. Maybe I should write down some of the stories.
Hardly ever see anyone hitching these days.
